ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS

Our library hosts many programs and special events for babies and toddlers, school-aged children, and teens. Our award-winning programming connects youth with great books and enriching activities. We have lots to offer!

Children’s Book Groups Online Sign-Up Form

Baby Laptime, Preschool Storytime, and Family Storytime

Come meet new library friends at these popular, interactive programs!


Free Play Afternoons

During the week, there are different activities set up in the Children’s Area for all ages to have free play and social time with their peers. These include playtime with Legos and Duplos, building blocks, and fine motor toys.


Book Groups

Our popular year-round Book Groups include Just You & Me (4th & 5th grade Girls & their Moms), Hooked on Books (6th-8th grades), and Food 4 Thought (9th – 12th grades). In June, July, and August, we offer two more elementary grade Book Groups: Book Bunch for 3rd graders and Bookworms for 4th – 5th graders.


STEAM Saturdays

An educational, fun, hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math program!

Held on specific Saturdays throughout the school year.


Reading Buddies

Saturday morning reading time with our canine friends! Children are able to practice their reading with our attention-loving therapy dogs. Held on specific Saturdays throughout the school year.


Special Holiday Programs and Events

Watch for specific program information. Some of our past programs have included Leprechaun Week, Easter Egg Hunts, Elf on the Shelf Holiday Fun, Story Walks, and more! Prizes are awarded!


Summer Programs

We offer a wonderful variety of programs, including Book Clubs, Puppet Theater, Family Story Time, Jumpstart to Kindergarten, Fun Family Themed Nights, and a special early elementary program. You may start signing up in May. Flyers are always available at the library! Come in and sign up!


Storytelling Festival

Professional storytellers provide on-stage entertainment at Ewing Park. Face painters, balloon art, and carriage rides round out this annual festival. Held on the third Saturday of September. Watch for specific information!
